Holy Grounds builds outdoor kitchens and grill stations for Springfield-area homes.
Counters and grill stations
- Block counter frames built plumb and square on a poured footing
- Openings framed for a built-in grill, access doors, drawers and an under-counter refrigerator
- Stone veneer or brick to match the house
- Granite, thermaled stone or cast concrete tops
- Bar overhang for seating, straight runs or an L
- Pizza ovens and built-in smokers where there is room for them

Utilities in the counter
- Gas line sleeved and stubbed up inside the counter for a built-in grill
- Water supply and drain for a bar sink where the run to the house allows it
- Circuits for a refrigerator, outlets and counter lighting
- Gas and electrical connections made by licensed trades, with the permit that goes with them
The sleeves and stub-ups go in while the counter is still open block. Adding them later means opening the veneer back up.

Patio, seating and lighting
- Paver or flagstone patio under the kitchen and out in front of it
- Seat walls, steps and grade changes worked into the same build
- Firepit areas worked into the same patio
- Low-voltage lighting on the counter, the steps and the path back to the house

Kitchen, seat wall and firepit on one patio.

Counter, step and path lighting.
Before the veneer goes on

Counter frame stage, before the veneer.
- Base compacted and a footing poured under the counter run, so it does not move with the ground
- Block laid plumb and square, with the appliance openings sized to the actual units
- Sleeves and stub-ups set for gas, water and power before anything is faced
- Counter top templated after the block is up
Project pricing depends on the size of the counter, access to the back yard, the appliances you choose, how far gas, water and power have to run, and the patio area around it. Send property photos for the first review.
